New guy from the Santa Barbara area here. I've been doing the mountain bike thing for a few years now following about 5 years as a roadie. I still ride the road as well, please don't hold that against me
. I stick to XC riding with some technical stuff thrown in, no big jumps or drops though. If you know the front country trails around SB then Jesusita is currently my favorite, though there are still a bunch of sections that I have to walk. I also race a bit, if you consider doing badly at the local races at stumpgrinder and elings park as "racing". My in-laws live down south in Temecula and I normally take my road bike but after checking out the trail descriptions at mountain bike bill's site I'm thinking that I should bring my mountain bike next time. Guess that's enough info barf for now. -brett |

Velcome. Jesusita is my favorite too, but neither Romero,Cold Springs or Tunnel are anything to sneeze at,some of the best trails I've ever rode.
I'm also a closet roadie but my heart in mtb'ing. Hope to ride with you someday.

Romero's fun, but like Jesusita there's still a bunch of spots on the single track that I have to walk. Rode Cold Springs once from the west fork trail head on Gibraltar up to the Edison catwalk. A bit too much hike-a-bike going up but riding down looks like fun. I think it's out of commission after the fire though. Everything I hear about tunnel makes it sound like it's way over my head.
