Default Hi there ...

... nice place you have here

Just figured I'd say hi, I moved out to Los Angeles from London 4 years ago and started mountain biking seriously, of course that's about when I realized I needed to upgrade seriously, the first time I climbed Guadalasco nearly killed me (and the descent down North Overlook had a few moments as well)

The first FS rig I bought was a KHS 604 which wasn't a bad bike for a regular person but I destroyed the stock pedals (cheapy SPD clones) in the first 2 miles, followed rapidly by the wheels, rear derailleur, fork (twice), and who knows how many chains.

These days I ride an Intense 5.5 and love it (turns out that Clydesdale XC = Enduro/All Mountain for normal people), although thanks to my job (visual effects) I tend to gain and lose a ton of weight from contract to contract - the last Hulk movie was responsible for a good 30 lbs, turns out spending extended periods in front of a computer coupled with catered food and excessive drinking does tend to screw with personal fitness.

At the moment I tend to ride out in Pt. Mugu, turns out the closer you get to LA the steeper the hills get

.. so if you see a fat guy grinding up a hill in granny gear on a gray Intense or hammering along the beach bike path on a silver Hardrock w/ slicks, it's probably me
