Default Hello from Santa Barbara

Just found out about this site recently and thought I'd join up. My name's Noah, been mountain biking for 15 years. I race DH in the Sport class ("O") I don't see many posts about Santa Barbara here and plan to do something about that as time permits.
Cheers!

Many of us do ride DH in Santa Barbara on a regular basis (Tunnel, Cold Springs and Knapps). However, when I organize shuttles there, I don't put it on the calendar anymore, as it is too hard to manage a very large group. I have organized group rides there with as many as 25 but it's just to hard to manage. Hence, my invitations go out via PMs and I try to keep the groups between 6-12 peeps.

I would love to ride some different trails out there and look forward to seeing what you post up. I had knee surgery recently so I am off the bike for a few more weeks.

to the madness.

Hey Noah,

Good to have you here. You, Orven and Shrimp should moonlight from RM more often. We've rode together in SB, I'll PM you when I'm back in SB for Fiesta!!

Hey Nancy!
I know of a couple other "gems" I can share with you.
Hope the knee heals up nicely.

yeah, not too many posts about SB here. I ride up there at least once a month as my mom lives in SB. How's the Gap Fire from where you are? I was in Montecito over the 4th and stayed off my bike and in the surf instead.

I used to do a lot more riding in SB but the growth in traffic made in harder to get around. Epics and XC for me -
Romero Canyon, Little Pine Mtn, Buckhorn Trail, Mt. Figueroa (Zaca Lake, Catway, Davy Brown)

Nice! I grew up in Santa Barbara, but haven't lived there in 11 years. I used to mountain bike in the mountains about 2 to 3 times a month when I was in school. Now that I am getting back into it, i'll be back up there when I visit my family, some of my old mountain bike buddies still live there too.
