Old/Newb from Whittier

Just want to hello to all out there. 41 y/o married guy, living in the Whittier area, getting back into the sport. Currently riding my first FS bike, a Giant XTC NRS-1. Mostly easy XC trail-riding (for now), although I hit the pavement to train with my wife who has found it necessary to torture herself by competing in local triathlons. Have never ridden the Fully-Loop (one of the known close-by home trails), but will get to that in short order.

Anyway, looking to start riding more and get to know a few of you out there (need more friends who like to ride). Kids, wife, job, and all that tend to get in the way, but creativity will overcome. Thanks & see you out on the trails.

Awesome! Welcome back into the fold! There are so many rides going on within this group at so many different times you'll be able to hit something with a group whenever you can get away. Turnbull Whittier is on our list of fave rides. I've only been there once and want to hit it again for all the cool jumps on the way down - I'm sure ther will be a post for a Sat or Sun am ride under the trailhead section - or just check the calendar. Dino Brown, the official mayor of STR, lives in Whittier as well - and will be harassing you into a lot of rides shortly...in a good way. Got lights? If so, join us on the Fullerton loop on Thursdays at 6:45 - soon you won't need the lights so come out regardless. Usually about 25 to 35 people on that ride. See you out there soon. we should setup a ride sometime, i'm normally up turnbull 2-3 times a week , i'm the guy on the blue gt i drive, you'll hear me creaking from a mile away

I started riding again early this year after about 8 years. I have a Giant Trance x1. This is a good place to hook up on great rides. Fullerton Loop and Turnbo are cool. Let me know when u would like to ride in the san gabriel mountains near Pasadena, thats where our group rides ofter. anyways have a good one and welcome
