Hey everyone, I'm a completely newbie to mountain biking. I've only been out on dirt three times and my legs and arms are covered in bruises and scrapes, I've gone over the bars going down Mathis, and yeah, I love it.
I found out about this site from Waldo, and I already bought my own bike so I'm pretty much committed as far as I can tell. This sport is making me realize how grossly out of shape I am, but I'm already trying to see when I can squeeze in my next ride! Anyway hopefully on the next super newbie ride I can make it out and meet some of you! ![]() |

Welcome to a cool site with very cool people. You've already scored many brownie points here by crashing and still coming back for more. Way to stick with it. If you ride with the group, your skills will get better so much faster while having fun conversations along the way. Look forward to seeing you out on the trails and btw I dig the Warhol self-portrait. I did the exact same one of myself as a xmas decoration back in 1991. Ok, useless trivia. Regardless - welcome!! Welcome. Glad your first OTB didn't scare you off. Hope to see you on the trails.
btw Ditto on the 661 Kyle Strait knee pads. You won't even notice your wearing them...but your knees will. ![]()

![]() WARNING: Participation with this site will cause the following problems (and not limited to these problems): 1. You will eventually spend a lot of money on bikes. 2. It won't be too long until you think owning 2 bikes is perfectly rational. 3. A little bit longer and you'll wonder how you survived without owning 3+ bikes - all of them for different types of rides. Anyhow, welcome to the addiction!

Wow, thanks everyone.
![]() I come from another message board where the mere mention of being a newbie will instantly get you verbally smacked around. This is a like a breath of fresh air. I feel like shedding a tear... or maybe having a beer. I hear that's what real mtb'ers do. ![]() |
