Hi STR members.

Thank for the welcome. Im Jeremy I live in Tustin Ca.

I've been turned on to this site by a friend and a STR member who told me that this was a great place to meet people and find places to start out. I'm a newbie,

and I don't even have a bike, but I've been looking, shopping for the best fire trail/anything xc /light mntn bike for my money and Id like some feed back on what riders would suggest as a good prebuild bike with a good spec sheet.something reliable I wont have to upgrade any time soon.Im trying to keep the price down under 1500.the bike I've been looking at are the 07 Marin east peak,from adrenalin bikes, and the 08 Giant trance x2 ,online. Most of the bikes I've looked at are around 33 lbs.Thanks! and I'm looking forward to getting started.

I ride the 07 wolf ridge from adrenaline and love it more than a PBJ with white bread.
I'd also say the same thing if i had the giant.
Both have great suspension designs. cant go wrong. just buy the one that has the best parts.

I say the trance... the trance and reign pedal very well... and they bomb hills too

might want to check out a local bike shop for the giant since giant does not allow online sales of their bikes.

Another thing you may want to do is keep your eyes open on this site (and possibly MTBR too) for used bikes. It may prove a good way to get the most bike for your money.
