A nice thing about Irvine is you could always ride down the 133 to Nix and do some riding there, or hit Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.

I live by Alton and Jeffrey, it's only 6 miles by road till you hit dirt so it's a nice warm up.

Welcome and hope you can make some of the rides posted here. As far as lights. If you have the ca$h, I would go with the Tri-newt. 2 lights are better than 1, 1 for the bar and 1 for the helmet.
