Default hello and thank you STR

Hi gang:
I'm the 50 year old guy (actually, 51 now) that started the 50 Mile Ride for Project Rwanda. Not only am I old, but I'm also clueless. I had no idea this site existed until recently when Sherry told me about it. What an awesome mtb forum and community this is! I rode a week ago with my mentor and mtb idol OMR, and he told me about all the on-line chatter and support for the 50 Mile Ride that went on before and after the ride this year. Thank you to all who rode and supported this cause! Now, can I please take a little survey? December is such an "iffy" month with rain it makes it tough to plan. Plus, the event is a fundraiser and a lot of sponsor money is dried up by the end of the year. So, what about our next 50MR in April or May of 2009? We don't want to conflict with any other event, so please get back to me with your feedback. And thanks again to all of you who participated and helped spread the good word about Project Rwanda!

Welcome and 52 is NOT old! You are only as old as you think you are.

Hey Doug welcome, Gene here. I sweeped the Rwanda ride with Gregg and saw you again at the Aliso trail work. You'll love this site and look forward to seeing you on more rides.

Thanks Gene! Looking forward to escaping on-line once in a while when I'm stuck at work. :-)

Hey, 50 is the new 35........ or is it 32? I just lapped the sun for my 50th time and I am proud to say I can "keep up"

Ride on, love and happiness to the whole SoCal ride community. The riding only gets better as I get older (so far)

What do they say 50 is the new 40s? I am 34 but I sometimes act like I am stilll 17. That can be a good and bad thing.

Hi DownHillPhil:
OMR - He's my "old guy idol". He's taught me lots about riding - and life - as we've worked on projects together.

Hi Northshore...
My office is in Foothill Ranch. Can't wait till they re-open Whiting for some before or after work rides again.

Hi Fired Yo Momma:
I agree. When I ride I feel half my age. After a fall though, I feel twice my age. So I try not to fall. But sometimes falls just happen, right?
