Default Look up!

If you look up on climbs around here on the "road", I'm probably up there ahead of you somewhere (ouch!) - Just kidding.

I'm newer to the mountain bike realm - tried it out last year for a duathlon and did great and loved almost killing myself in the process of racing the third time on a mountain bike. Talk about a rush...

Since you guys don't fill pot holes on the trail (well not in the same way as asphault), I'm still getting the hang of some of the rough terrain.

Climbing's my first love on the road bike. I ride a System Six Cannondale - stiff, light and climbs faster than I can keep up with it. I grabbed a Specialized Epic after borrowing a buddies 10 year old mountain bike for a week and ride it whenever the weather doesn't favor the roads or just to change things up.

I like to kill myself when training. So long rides I look forward to whenever I can fit them in. Sometimes I can get away from work and ride the 38 or baldy (near where I live) and Lytle Creek. Fun stuff. Flat rides are BORING!

Mountain biking is a fun diversion, and I'm going to be spending more time in the dirt this year preparing for events I've committed to. It strengthens me and gives me a solid core when I'm riding regularly.

Hope to find some of you out there who ride the trails near the Rancho/Claremont/San Dimas/San Bernardino areas. Seems like I can't find enough people to keep motivated at times!

I ride the road at times with Cycling Connection out of Rancho Cucamonga. Good group with a broad range for most any riders. If you're looking for a diverse roud group - I'd recommend them to just about anyone.

When it gets cold... I hit the trails and roads with my feet. I'm a whimp like that. Windchill...that's not something I agree with. If there's extra cold towards freezing temperatures because of the fun I'm having (unless it's snowboarding...) then forget it! I'm running. I'll watch you guys fly through the mud and ice witht he frozen kneecaps as I'm toasty warm in my beannies and gloves working up a hot steamy sweat!

I'll add more another time. For now I'm:

Married
39
Male
Live in Rancho
2 Kids 10/12 Girls
Ride: Tandem, Single, MTB
Run: Trails/Road Distance/Endurance Events
Beat more people than beat me.. for now!
Look for excuses to go play on the roads and in God's beautiful world of trails and streams and trees.

My favorite place to ride/run is Park City, Utah. Only got to do that once, but I'll never forget it!

That's it for now! See you out there!

Ahhh...Lytle Creek. That used to be my morning ride. 40 miles from my old house in Rialto to the end of Lytle Creek and back. I miss it a lot.

Sadly, I now live in Mission Viejo where I have to suffer with the lack of road and trail riding around here.

Hope you'll join us for the Newbie Ride at Marshall Canyon this Saturday morning. Look for the funny looking guy on a black Epic. That'll be me.

Welcome

There are some fellow road riders on the boards who love to go out and do long, painful rides (aka PainFreak)...I'm sure they'll be introducing themselves
