In search of the gnomes

I took a mean break from riding for the last few years on account of a budding career and A jeep fetish.
I've been riding Sycamore several times a week lately. I'd like to branch out and ride some other stuff on the weekends. I have to take it easy for a while. I'm still not in great shape and my knees have been bothering me. Just want to cruise. I ride an ooold Psycle Werks mostly, and just futz around. Good site BTW. I am impressed. Carl

Maybe I'll do the TDW saturday or sunday ride (weather permitting). Do quite a few people show up? Where exactly is the meeting place in canyon crest?

and howdy. I'm going to be riding Box Springs on Saturday morning. You're more than welcome to join in the fun. Milage is going to be around 18-20 with 2,500 - 3,000 feet climbing. PM me if you would like to join in. BTW the meeting place for TDW is in the Canyon Crest Shopping Center - Central & Canyon Crest Dr.

On Sat. and Sun. however, the meeting time/place is 8:00 a.m. in front of Richard's house on the corner of Grove Hill and Cherry Hill, 1 mile west from the shopping center driving up on Central. Although we have an active group, my suggestion is to post your interest in riding on the Team Dirty Work message board since ocassionally people don't show up for rides due to the weather, chores, etc. |

Unfortunately, it grows in large stands about 2-3 feet high on both sides of the single-track, you need to keep a straight line to avoid brushing against it...but if you know what it looks like and where it is you will be fine..... http://facultyfiles.deanza.edu/image.../poisonOak.jpg Sycamore Canyon has no Poison Oak. However, there are a few stands of stinging nettles...most are in the trail that we call, what else, "The Nettles". http://www.flickr.com/photos/leeradford/375705240/ If I had a choice, I would prefer the stinging nettles over the poison oak, since the nettles will give you excruciating pain for a few minutes as opposed to the nasty spreading rash of the poison oak ![]() |
