Default Greetings from San Diego

Hello all. I'm not new to mountain biking but feel like I might as well be since it's been so long ago that I used to ride. In fact, I still haven't been out yet but hope to change that in the next week or two after my bike gets finished!

Anyhow, I should be back in shape soon and be able to join up on some of the rides.

From San Diego County,
There will be some "newby" rides scheduled up wherre you won't have to worry about the keeping up with others. One of the philosophies here that I have always brought forward on my rides is "No-one left behind".
Check out the calandar, riders usually post up what kind of pace/skill level it will be. When you start feeling comfortable rsvp to one of the group rides, there is a great bunch of people here. Have fun!!!

Thanks. I'm in Carmel Valley right by a fire road that drops into the NW side of LPQ.

Which fire road? I'm a smidge north of the 56 near Carmel Creek.

Nice. I'm at the end of Poway near Sycamore Canyon. Hope to see you on the trail sometime.

Oh nice. I wish I was that close to little waimea. It's part of the route though.

I think we'll be doing an LPQ epic soon. You should join us.

I was out there yesterday. Trails are in pretty good condition, but there were a couple of sandy parts, plus some kids were out on the fireroad with a fake snake and a video camera getting peoples reactions as they rode/walked past. Also, there were a couple of hoof prints in Tunnels. Not sure if they were new or not.

Highjacking over.

What does an LPQ epic entail? Whatever it is, sounds like fun.

So far, it's...

Start from the carmel country dirt lot.
There's single track (not sure on the name) that goes up near where you are.
Take little waimea down into the canyon.
wagon wheel cross.
up and under sorrento
up and back down the old lopez canyon trail.
back across wagon wheel
up lucas'
do the little bean aka intestines
down cobbles
up powerlines
over to tunnels (options here include what's being called tunnels mesa which i like to call junkyards)
back to da s#!ts
back up the rest of cobbles
optional return intestines trip
down eucalyptus
back to the lot

we've made about 20mi doing something similar...

eventually, i think black mountain can be involved.
also, nappyt has been doing some recon in the way of connecting sycamore canyon.

I only have about 75% of LPQ mapped out on GPS. Here is what I have so far. I'll finish it this summer when LPQ drys out.
