Hey everyone, just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. Moved from the Bay Area to Rancho Bernardo about 2 months ago. Haven't had too much time thanks to work but I have been able to get in rides at Mission Hills, Penasquitos, Black Mnt, and Lake Hodges area so far.
I uploaded some photos from 12/30 at North Lake Hodges area (plus the obligatory bike photo ). I was amazed at all the burn damage and surprised any trails were even open. Many sections were closed off and there was no obvious way to get up the mountain from the SE side before I gave up and headed elsewhere. It was actually pretty cool seeing the land start to spring back after such destruction. Looking for other XC trail recommendations in the area. Seems like a lot of great areas down here!!! One day soon I will make the pilgramige to Noble Canyon. What's up with all the rain here though??? LOL chadster |

Choose Wisely

![]() Now that's what I call an Intro. Throws in the mini-RR and everything. ![]() The SD Crew continues to grow more and more everyday!! It's amazing sometimes to think how many of us there is now. Quite a few of us post regular rides, so there's a decent amount of weekly rides. Just because you're an STR newb, don't let that stop you from posting up rides too!! Post 'em up!! I can not stress this enough--even if it's a last second/spur of the moment ride or a ride you think no one else would be interested in, post it up anyway. You never know who might be interested or who will be able to show. Stay involved and don't be a stranger!! ![]()

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Most of you figured out quick I like big tires. They go fast! ;-)
Also, photography is my other hobby so you can expect plenty of RRs from me. Pacman, thanks for the encouragement. I'll be sure to post up rides. Thanks, Chad |

I've just started in photography. I've been shooting black and white film with a mid 1970's Canon EF with a 50mm f/1.4 lens. With the costs of film and photo paper adding up and the lack of easy access to an enlarger, I've decided to buy a digital SLR soon.
Do you have a website where you post your photos? |

I made the jump to digital about 4 years ago and never looked back. The freedom of taking a nearly infinite number of photos plus being able to manipulate them without a dark room, chemicals, the smell, etc, has really changed the way I take pictures. It's a good time to jump into digital if you haven't yet. You really can't go wrong with the DLSRs being produced by Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax, etc. It's really a new golden age of photography. Also don't forget about the little point and shoot cameras. They weigh next to nothing and won't load you down on the trail. The Lake Hodges photos I took were from a super small 6mp Panasonic point and shoot. My DLSR is too heavy to take on most rides unless taking pictures is the main goal..... Good luck Offroadie if you decide to take the jump! |
