Default Hello one and all

So, I've been lurking around this site for a few months, and finally decided to take the plunge.

I live in Northern LA County, Valencia to be exact. And while this place seems to be the domain of the OC/SD crowd, it seems far and away the best site for So Cal MTB talk. So, why not? I know there are at least a few folks local to me on this board.

Some good riding up this way, as some of you may know. The San Gabriel's are close, Santa Monica's, heck SB is 1.5 hours away.

Me, I'm into the epic ride thing if I can. I'm prone to entering at least a couple 12 or 24 hour events a year, 12hrs of Temecula being the last one.

Well, off and running...

Welcome! I have seen your screen name on another site. I also live in your neck of the woods. Hope to ride with you sometime...

'Bout doggone time we get some more riders from 'up here' on the forum

I have a ride posted for 1/12/08, but I'm certainly up for some rides between now and then.

Welcome.

Welcome from San Diego. I use to work in Valencia for almost a year before coming back down to SD. You live in a pretty nice place. Welcome to the family.

Hopefully I'll be out at a 12 hours of Temecula at some point next year!

Yeah, it is starting to grow on me. I've been here for about a year now. This place is the master planned community from hell, and way more vanilla than other places I've lived. But, I'm getting older (all of 34), and things like "quality of life", good schools and "community based values" are supposed to take on a new meaning...

Yep, that place was already built in someones head before the first scoop of dirt was moved. I remember seeing lots of SOAP and TV stars. I think I met half the people that were on X-Files and a couple others shows.

Again, welcome!

Welcome.
Jeff, this ride has been on my radar for a while. I don't know if I'll be able to make the scheduled ride, but I definitely would like to get up there and check it out.

From what little I've heard, its a little difficult to find the beginning of the route if you haven't been there before. Plus, there is some private property stuff and canyon folk who may "shoot first and question later".

I work from home and my schedule is flexible.

Is there a way to reach Tapia Canyon from the Copper Hill / Tesoro area (i.e. the backside) ?
