Default Looking for riding buddies / Gal's

New to the mountain bike community. But not to the great out doors. Recovering from Injuries sustained in Iraq. Just bought a GIANT Trance X1 and love it. Hit me with a PM if you got time to show me some local trails and are willing to help get me out and about. I live local in Vista and know the area pretty well. Nice meeting everybody and happy holidays.

And thanks for your service in the military. Marines?
Former Marine myself. I live in Oceanside, and ride most of the local trails. If our schedules ever jive I can help get you acquainted with them. There a plenty of other peeps in the San Diego area on here as well.

Semper Fi Devil Dog!

Thanks for what you and all the other service member do overseas and here at home. I served as a Marine as well, although I didn't do a stint as long as yours, only 8 years.....plus I was a reservist puke. I'm still kicking myself for not going active and staying the full 20.

If I'm ever riding in the SD area, I'll try to let you know. Every once in a while I head down to ride Santa Rosa in Wildomar. I do want to try Vail Lake. Maybe you and some other SD people can show me around.

If you ever come up here to the Inland Empire, I would be glad to show you our local trails. I also have a beer for you whenever we meet.

I have no doubt the SD folks will take care of you on the trails down there. The only place I've ridden in SD is Daley Ranch and it was a load of fun.

As the elected leader of the San Diego crew, I say-- and THANK YOU for your service to our country!!

The SD Crew has gotten positively huge in the last few months!!

Quite a few of us post regular rides, so there's usually a decent amount of weekly rides to choose from.

One to check out for sure is our weekly Tuesday night ride. We have been riding Los Penasquitos lately, but before the SD fires we would throw in North and South Lake Hodges too. Here's this weeks ride thread: Los Penasquitos Night Ride, 12/18 @ 7:30

Just because you're an STR newb, don't let that stop you from posting up rides too!! The more rides the better!!

I can not stress this enough--even if it's a last second/spur of the moment ride or a ride you think no one else would be interested in, post it up anyway. You never know who might be interested or who will be able to show.

Stay involved and don't be a stranger!!

Thank you for your service to our country and welcome to the group. If you find your way up in the Rancho Santa Margarita neck of the woods, hit me up and I'll show you some of my backyard's best.

Are you on Pendleton?

There's a group of us that do a lunch time ride on base most everyday. None of us are really young either, I've got 25 1/2 years of service.

Let me know if you're interested ...
