Default Looking for riders (Bonelli, Claremont Hills, Marshall Cyn, ???)

Hi folks!

I'm new to STR and the site looks great. I have been riding solo in Bonelli and recently made it around the 5 mile loop in Claremont Hills Wilderness Park without resting! I'd like to meet some of you, because my friends either don't ride, or they ride but want to stop every 2 miles for a smoke!

I like to do Bonelli in the mornings (work at noon). And I'd like to try some new rides on the weekends.

And there's a problem with that....I guess it is what they stop to smoke.

Sorry, not local to the area. I did race Bonelli in Oct, though. Some cool climbs out there

welcome!

the majority, or at least half, or the people here come from that other county down south. j/k That said, there's a few of us from around these parts that ride those places. I was at Marshall yesterday but haven't done Bonelli for awhile.

i guess it's better now than bever that someone sets up a ride in that area

to La Familia. You will never have to ride alone again.

P.S. I learned how to ride at Marshall Canyon. We still ride out there once in awhile.

to the neighborhood. Much of the year you can find me in Claremont / Marshall 2 or 3 evenings a week after work, plus Friday afternoons and often on the weekends unless I decide to drive somewhere to ride. Right now though, you will only see my red Felt on Friday and weekends. I'm ashamed to say I have never ridden in the dirt at Bonelli.

WELCOME BoingBoing I do those trails often cause of work time usually have to ride in the area so if you're free weekday afternoons ever let's go. Be there most likely tomorrow again. You know about the st from CWP leading into Marshall right? So yea WELCOME from the 909 Valley of the Dirt People which you are one.

Another one from the Valley of the Dirt People?

Welcome! You'll find quite a few people who ride and live up here. Check out the posted rides and don't hesitate to join one! You should check out the detour to Potato Mountain from the Claremont Wilderness Park. I try and sneak in Bonelli every few weeks when I don't want to drop a small fortune into my tank.

Keep an eye on the JensonUSA blog, where rides in those arears are posted regularly. The rides are on Saturdays and are led by Jenson race team members or employees. Also, CyclingConnection.org leads night rides through Claremont Wilderness and Marshall Canyon on Tues and Thurs nights.

Welcome. I live about a mile and a half from Bonelli, and 4 miles from Marshall. My semester in school is over on Friday, and I should be available for some morning rides.

Yep, you'll find most of us there at one time or another. It's not a big place, but we have some fun times there. My road club does some mtb'ing there on Tuesday nights. They start at 5 pm from the upper lot in CWP. I can't get over there that early so I usually don't make it. What are you riding and I'll keep an eye out for you?

I am on a blue Trek Fuel EX 5 that I just got from Incycle. If you've seen me in the past I was on a Black Diamondback hardtail. Hope to see you soon!

I'm also up in the area. Check the calendar, Incycle does a Monday night ride, either at Bonelli or Marshal Cyn. If your free in the evenings after 5pm, I would be happy to meet you for a Bonelli ride.

There are always lots of rides going on for the weekend. I'm up for doing a ride on Sunset Fire Rd soon. It's best if shuttled, just a short trek up towards Mt. Baldy.

Hope to see you on the trails soon.

Thanks. Never did night-riding, not equipped, and I work till 7pm. But weekends are cool. Let me know if you want to ride this Sunday.

Forgive the n00b, but does "shuttled" mean one car at either end?

One way or another, I look forward to meeting you!

YUP, that's exactly what it means. Sunset Fire Road is 17 miles 1 way, we could do an out an back but most ppl shuttle with a car at both ends.

I might be able to do a ride this Sunday because my son is going to an over night b-day party.

As far as night riding goes, You have got to try it! If your ever interested in trying it, I have an extra light you can barrow, it's really a blast and we might be able to get a group to go at night sometime .

I'll have to take you up on the (light) offer, if we get a few people interested. I'd like to try.

Re Sunday: Let's do it! 17 miles will be plenty for me, so it's cool that we have this forum to link up. I'll PM my details to you.
