sweet.....so if you want i could come up to your house to pick you and ted up cuz we are gona need your hitch rack for the third bike and i figure around 6:30ish

and as far as Stan's with Nevs i have never had a problem i have 2 older nevs(standard non tubless type) hanging on my wall that had stans in them for over a year and the inside looks fine, i think the original nevs when they first came out had issues because of the rubber compound but thats all been fixed with the newer ones, and even on the stans site the kendas are an approved tire.

OK, Ted and I are in. We just have to get back for Ted's soccer match so leaving early will be a must.

Looks like I'll put my 'ghetto tubeless' setup to the test in Big Bear on Saturday .

Converted it last night. Wasn't super difficult, but took about an hour just to do the rear wheel. I'm leary of doing the front since I run a Nevegal and have heard stories of Stans and Nevs not playing nice together in the sandbox

I'm running a Specialized Chunder 2.2" rear tire and have not heard any negative issues with Specialized rubber.

Performance Cyclery had a few 20" presta tubes. They are a bit on the skinny side, but I still had over 1/2" to trim from each side of my Mavic 321's.

Hopefully the Stans and the Chunder will get me through goathead season intact......

Bret... I smile pedaling on the way up and gliding on the way down. The trick is learning how to smile while pedaling up.

Didn't bring the bike up to Mammoth, won't be back until Friday, I'll be needing to get a climb in Friday afternoon, I will have been off the bike since last Saturdays ride... not good with all the fires and smoke around here in Granada Hills, my lungs feel junked and crudded out.

Big Bare... maybe I can meet up with DublXL if the spot is still available. Gotta check first with She Who must be Obeyed.

well i went both directions came down it first stopping in a couple of spots to take pics and then on the way up no stopping and it said exactly the same to the .01 of a mile so i would have to say it is pretty damn accurate, then going back and looking at the results on the computer and calculating the average speed and the time it took it all equals up to 1 mile unless my gps is off on the time, distance and speed unless................. osama binladen is messing with our satellites.

anyways you and Ted up for big bear?

Well my computer always says it is 2 miles from the Oak tree to the top of the climb and it's 5.14 to the top of the climb from the Sports Complex, and around 10.5 total round trip from the Sports Complex.

Is it possible your GPS was off for part of the way down???...

And I could see a small bit of smoke from the Towsley Canyon / East Canyon ridge tops, but it never got bad or big. I think they must have it contained pretty well.

right on rich!!!!!! i plan on getting there for the first lift as well, we will prolly see you guys in the parking lot then.

oh yeah i went out to the "2 mile smile"......well i actually set my gps and i hate to say it but........we might have to re-name it to somthing like....the mile of smile.....because it is exactly i mean to the 100th of a mile....my gps said 3.13mi at the spot where we always regroup before droping in and when i stoped at the big oak tree at the end my gps said 4.13mi and then i went back up it and again at the end it said 5.13mi.
    oh well.

Right on Brett! The lifts open at 9am, I plan on being on the first chair up. I'm riding straight through(no lunch or breaks). I'll have my son with me so we will be a little slower than Ted and Jeff but we will definately hit up some runs with you guys.
