Yeah, there are some advantages to living in the town next door to Marzocchi. But for the folks that have to pull their forks and ship it in, then wait for it to be fixed and shipped back... not ideal. Imagine if Magna had to ship his fork twice to get it right, instead of you handling it for him in person.

Knock on wood, but I've had zero issues with my forks or shock so far in 15 months of hard use and I know Kanga did about 9000 miles and three years on his Edison before the air cartridge needed new o ring seals. I'm at around 2000 miles on mine now. It's the old style frame, though, that's been my nemesis, hopefully they got it right in the new design.

There is a 'perception' out there that suggests that recent issues with some Marz designs are related to the fact that production now takes place in Asia. Whether or not that is true, I have no way of knowing for sure. It could also possibly be attributed to design issues coming from Italy... I just don't know.

What I do know:

- Every one of the popular fork manufacturer's products suffer from their share of breakdowns, design flaws/issues, etc. Not some; ALL.
- Suspensions components are the most complex part of a mountain bike. It only makes sense that there will be breakdowns as companies make more complex designs and still try to make a fairly competitively lightwweight, high performance product.
- *S* happens. It's how the company deals with it and if it happens repeatedly that figure into how I will judge them.
- I did have an issue with my fork. It was handled promptly, surely and politely. I am happy. If Marzocchi offered to refund every penny I have spent on my fork so I could buy something else, I would decline in a heartbeat. There is nothing out there for the money that fits my needs that comes close IMHO and all of my dealings with them have been overwhelmingly positive.

@Scottay: I never made it to Pinetos with the SB8s. I decided it would be better to break a couple of ribs and knock myself out twice and almost impale myself instead.

Towsley Canyon...never been there, unfortunately.

I dont think XXL's problem had anything to do with QC.......
