I saw on Clipped In that RT posted that the trails were roped off. Can you get some info...

Let's go ahead and meet at PNR with the original intent of climbing up the fire road and descending Los Pinetos. If Los Pinetos is roped off, we'll just descend the fire road. If the fire road is closed, we can all head over to Towsley and see what is up.

I like to respect the owner's wishes in Tapia and hopefully it will re-open soon.

I have MG's phone # and can call him if need be.

Climb Pinetos from the Nature Center? Shuttle from Camp 9? Someone better call MikeG!
Didnt 1080 ride up the FR from PnR? I know Dan climbed most of the way UP Pinetos on Tues.

Sorry for the short notice. Two things...First, I can't make it today, I had some unexpected visitors yesterday and will have to stay home.

Second, and I hope this doesnt effect you, another site mentioned that Viper and Pinetos were roped off. The post was on the 26th. Just thought I would give you a heads up.

I don't think we have had any real confirmation that the traill is open.

A possible alternate would be Towsley Canyon. It did rain, do you think Tapia will be open soon?

@jeffj: I'd get one out there, but there is a CC 5 minutes from my house. I should be able to make it out to the beast by 8, but I wanted to pad my schedule just in case.

Mike (ddmansprty) suggested 8am, sounds good to me..... Heat won't be a factor, so I guess it's just a scheduling thang.

It looks like we're going to be here in the SCV. The ground is just a little soft at my house, so it should be prime tomorrow.

How to get to the trailhead: Head south on I-5 up just over the Newhall pass and get onto Hwy 14 north. It's only a couple miles up Hwy 14 and exit at San Fernando Rd. There are two parts once you're on the offramp (no big deal, but), take the first one and turn right into the "Park-n-Ride". The road dead-ends there, so it's almost impossible to get lost ;~).

I'll be taking a break-in ride on my bike and I haven't ridden for over a week so I won't be blazing any trail up (as if I do anytime) the hill.
