On an unrelated note, my cheap 360 died and I had to go get a refund.
Oh well, I might just spend the money on bike crap instead.

any rides for tomorrow? when and where?

It looked like we were in for a muddy mess when we first started out, but after the first quarter mile or so, things worked out well this morning. The Los Pinetos descent was very nice too.

My daughter really enjoyed the ride too even though she told me beforehand she wanted no exposure on the trail ;~). I knew she would be fine climbing, but she was descending pretty well too. I had to push just a bit to keep her in view.

Overall, I was very pleased with the new rig. Seems fitting that the maiden voyage would involve mud

A couple things I want to adjust, such as I would like to find a (cheap) zero setback seatpost and another Brooks saddle. Maybe add a few psi to the air spring in the fork and it should be good to go.

I had a blast today on that downhill. That fire road up was super loooonnnnnggggg though! What was the down hill called? Los Pinetos?

Thanks for the update. I rode from my house to the nature center really early this am, other than the creekbed being filled with black soot, you can not even tell there was a fire. The nature center was in great shape minus the creekbed, which should firm up in the next couple of days.

I spoke with a rep with the State Park there, the P&R is open, they just roped and gated it off to keep unauthorized car like vehicles out of there, except for those with "exempt" plates, because of so much firetruck traffic and keeping the gate midway unlocked. Bikers and hikers are welcome.

I think he just saw the ropes/tape at the bottom by the PnR. 1080 went up from there, I think.
There's also another entrance to Pinetos a lil further up the hill, I bet they forgot to rope that one, if any are roped. Pinetos didnt burn, so it should be okay.....
