I just drove home thru the pass, it looks like most of Pinetos might have been spared. The map shows the fire moving farther down the hill than it actually burnt. The lower part of Viper looked untouched. It will be easier to see once the air quality improves. From what I could see, it does not look like the fire reached the truck trail until quite a ways up the mountain. I was able to see a good portion of Viper, which looks intact. If the area is open by next weekend, I might try to check the damage out. It's going to stink to high heaven though...

At least there will not be any pesky mustard ripping up your forearms and shins.

Looking at the map, Wilson Cyn, Los Pinetos to the Nature center, Viper, and the P&R all burnt in the fire. It's going to be a blackened moonscape out there to ride.

    Joe,

I was just talking to my brother about putting a ride together for sometime over the Thanksgiving weekend. I'm sure we'll have something going on, so bring your bike and plan on riding!

    Hello Guys,

I am coming up to Valencia for Thanksgiving. I was wondering if there were any planned rides that I could tag along for during that weekend? I will probably only be able to ride on Friday, but that is not for sure yet. Anyways, I'll watch the message board if there are no plans yet.

Randy, their family has been property owners back there since the thirties, they have keys to all the gates... The property owners (collectively) aren't so concerned with other property owners riding in there so much as they are about others that ride in.

Didn't ride it, air quality is bad, and my lower back went out on me this afternoon, so I'm layed up for a few days in pain. Sucks... the GF reminded me thats my first back outage at over 50 yrs old.
