Man, what a great ride this morning. It was really cold when we started, but quickly the layers were coming off as we made our ascent. Overall, the trail is in really good condition, with the exception of the last descent into walker ranch, which is still saturated. I hugged the side to stay out of the muck.

THEN....Terror in Walker Ranch! I was following b-40 and heard screams of terror, that quite frankly would have rivaled anything I have ever heard in a Hollywood horror movie! Off to the side of the trail, SEVERAL feet away, a couple of ladies and their tiny, unleashed doggie, were hanging out. I guess the ladies thought we were going to run precious over. The screams continued long after the evil mountain bikers passed. I caught the terror and carnage on my GoPro. Hopefully I got some good audio. Damn, it was funny. There were several groups hiking throught the nature center, and most were cool. We slowed the pace to prevent anymore terror on the trail!

I'm gonna wait for it to warm up before riding today. I froze my butt off doing a late day ride up East Canyon on Saturday, and I'm just thawing out now. Have fun guys.

I have hardly been doing any riding and I need something easier that the truck trail to warm up on. I don't know if its closed or not, if it is I'll take the more boring alternative. Also I don't think i can make it there at 8

If you see me, you see me, but FYI, I am downing some Phenergan prescription cough syrup here right before I hit the sack and I have no idea how I'll feel in the AM. Color me a maybe at best even though I'm dying to ride.

@Mordy: Come on, it'll be fun. Also, we leave no one behind; it takes as long as it takes to get to the top.

@jeffj: You're not coming? Do you really want to miss out on all the "fun" and "joy" suffering up Penitent Hill provides?

Mordy, I can make it only stopping once at the gate at the halfway point. I have ridden with you enough times to know you can make that climb and it won't kill you. You'll enjoy it and be in good company too. It's a fun ride.

@Mordy: Is Tapia finally open? Or is everyone just "not seeing" the do not enter signs?

I don't think i can make it up the truck trail yet, but i think i'll do Tapia in the morning when it creeps above 45 degrees or so heh.
