Default For Those Who Have Ridden Big Bear?

How strict are they on the no downhill bikes policy. I really want to go up there before it starts snowing but I only have a dh bike because thats what I mainly ride but I also ride some xc on it. This is pretty much a full out dh bike though, 8 inch travel marzocchi 888 up fgront 8.5 inches of travel in the back, around 46 pounds, single ring, and a 2.8 michelin up front. If I really need it I could probably throw a 2.5 tire up front and maybe borrow my friends 7 inch 66 and run that.

Also are they any other good dh/freeride trails in big bear, I dont mind a little climbing but i also like shuttle runs. Thanks

Hey, we just had a thread on this about 2 weeks ago?

Do a quick forum search. There should be plenty of info!

Here's the thread: What's the deal with Big Bear?

there are a few fun Dh trails up there there sorta hidden off to the side of the fire roads my fav one there has a teeter some fun jumps a two log rolls and pretty decent sized drop like 6 or 7 ' drop(cant remeber). i bring my 7 inch IRON HORSE with 2.7 tires and they dont seem to care but i dont wear FF or body suit either just knee/shinguard

You can always shuttle Big Bear, but you really have to know the area to find DH runs, the best ones are not on any maps.
