  • haven't had a need to use Time Machine yet but it's done very well and I'm glad it will be there when I need it. It's literally a two step process to get it setup - 1) plugin external hard drive 2) select yes when it asks you if you want to use it for time machine. But then you gotta go into the options if you want to exclude folders from backup (which I did)
  • the new mail app is pretty cool - I've started to use the notes feature on it and use the built in RSS functionality in that rather than having a separate RSS app
  • haven't tried the screen sharing, as not many people that I know have leopard yet
  • I did an archive and install upgrade and it went fairly smoothly although a few apps had to be manually moved over
  • coverflow in the finder is obviously just eye candy but very nice eye candy - I never use it unless I wanna show off to windows users
  • however, I do use the new smart folders in the finder. I loved them in mail and having that type of functionality in finder is pretty slick.
  • having the available network shares show up in finder is a nice time saver
  • I haven't got the hang of how the stacks feature in the dock will save me time and thus haven't used it much
  • the new iChat has lots of good improvements over the old version including tabbed chatting, transcript
  • I have noticed that spaces starts slowing down in the middle of the day. Maybe it's the 15+ apps I have running at once or maybe time machine is backing up - not sure yet. A bit of testing on my part should find the culprit. ( I have 2gb of ram btw)

Default Smart folders...

Smart folders were in Tiger. Your system may be lagging due to the non Intel native apps you are running. Time for CS3. I do like the quickview thingy. I did not know that you can use it on any view in the finder. Just select the file and hit the space bar. Nice.

Damn you and your logic. I never noticed the smart folders in tiger. Maybe I only noticed them now cause they had example smart folders to begin with

yea???? and the space time continuem of the free port x-file that runs externally inside the mothership Quazar plugged into the swingline lever exchange module program works like charm still... right?

It remindes me when I forgot to check the oil level in the muffler. I almost blew and air cleaner with that mistake.

The BEST thing about Leopard is Spaces. I put Photoshop in one Space, Dreamweaver in another, Pages in another, and my regular junk in the other.

But all is not lollipops and beer. There are some downsides.
  • Sync'ing iCal and Address Book with the Treo is no longer possible (this is a huge problem)
  • Pithhelmet no longer works
  • Windowshade no longer works
  • FontCard no longer works
  • Smartscroll no longer works
  • Forgetmenot no longer works
