There may be some $$ coming in this winter, and I'm thinking a SS SIR 9 is my future. But I have a few questions:
1) Is the complete SS Niner a good deal/build? 2) Should I go rigid or Reba? This is going to be my fast XC bike/Urban bike, and I'm keeping my 5.5" Reign for the chunky stuff. PS I think rigid is way cooler looking. 3) Are they making any cool changes for '08? Thanks! |

rumor has it that niner is working with rock shox to get a u-turn reba that you can only get by purchasing a full niner.
i thought i heard this pre-interbike on the 29er eMpTyBeeR bored. edit: you're likely to stop riding the reign due to the smaller wheels. trust me, you've been warned. I'm selling off everything 26" except the beloved tituSS |

Dude, SS 29er is the perfect bike for the metro-Boston trails. Flat, fast and rooty singltrack. I can't wait! Then I have the Mt. Snow, Attitash, Killington DH/FR parks within an hour!

![]() He described the trails back there and it is perfect for a SS. I rode (for the most part) only a SS for almost two years before getting my Sultan. been riding my Sultan for almost two months and already want to "put it away for awhile" and only ride the SS.![]() |

70-100mm of on the fly travel adjustment. 38mm offset $550 msrp. Basically a stock reba SL with the U-Turn feature and ability to go down to 70mm of travel |

I think the U-turn coil kit is $35 and the knob is another $55. I do not know how much the air conversion cost (I am only intersted in the coil conversion) ![]() |

I've only ever gone rigid at Hodges (
) and Southridge. Hodges was much more enjoyable.I just bought a Bonty carbon rigid fork, though, and that baby needs to be installed and ridden. ![]() So, if you go rigid (I dunno how big of a guy you are?) maybe try out a Pace, DT Swiss, or Bonty carbon rigid fork. Or, um, just do the S.I.R. thing. |
