Is that considered a respirator? Where can I purchase one?

I think it called an R96 rated respirator. You can get them at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I have an "organic odors" filter in mine. Honestly with it on I can't smell ANY smoke at all. It is a little cumbersome and sweaty though. They are usually $25-$50.

Unfortunately the trail is only about 100 feet long and people aren't "supposed" to ride on it since it's the greenbelt in out neghborhood.

Good thing you aren't wearing your warriors jersey in the poaching picture

My friend Gina asked me to pass this on:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the respirator mentioned will only protect you from the odor, but will allow all the smoke particles (dust) to still get in your lungs. So unfortunately you'll still be coughing up a lung long after the ride.

If anyone is seriously thinking of doing this, I would suggest buying a pre-filter that's NIOSH approved for dust (i.e., P95, R95, N95 or better). An example that would go with the respirator in the pic is:

Thanks for the tip! My 3M respirator has that though - the organic vapor filter and the 3M 5971 P95 particulate filter.

Even better - check this one out! Looks better too!
