design is better than the set screw stuff.

the only thing i feel like pinching is a loaf.....no thanks, EBBs bite, set screw, pinch bolt, or expanding EBBs. In fairness, I have not owned a pinch bolt version though have no desire.

of course i also don't have all that bling on my bike...

i have to say that i hate horizontal drops much more than i hate EBB.
I'm with Justin on this one...the sliders on my Kona Unit sucked...The Path and I tried everthing except Doug's (cavemans) fix...throughing some big nuts and bolts on there. I keep the bike two months before selling it.

an older Unit (26" version) and yes the bolts came loose and stripped. It was an easy fix. Sanded the paint off the frame and went to Lowes and picked-up some HD hex bolts.

What I did not like about that frame was the tolerance on the sliders. It took a long time to get the rear wheel straight.

After talking to the guys at The Path and some custom builders the EBB with a pinch bolt maybe the way to go.

If I had to make a decision today and didn't care about the cost or weight I would go with a standard frame and Eno WI rear hub. But I have been known to change my mind

FoShizzel and slowSSer, What did you guys like so much about your On Ones? Do you think their newer and lighter Scandal would exhibit the same characteristics?

The main purpose of my modification(*) of the Unit was to make the slider micro-adjustable, a la Paragon.

(*) drilled and tapped set screws.

sorry guys, but Kona, especially olders Konas, are a horrible example of how effective sliders can be. they are well known (older models) to have crap functionality.

Even my relatively ghetto version on the Inbred was WAY better than any of the EBBs I have used

My Kona was not good. But Caveman's mod looks good.

I still think the pinch bolt shows promise. Works similar to a seat clamp.
