I can see the flames from my front porch here in Tustin. It looks like it may be just on the other side of the toll road, by Jamboree. Fremont Canyon?

Just got back from riding San Juan...On the way back from dropping my buddy off in Laguna I saw the smoke too. It looks like it is coming from the toll road area near the junction of the 133 and 241.

Orange County firefighters are en route to a 20-acre brush fire in the vicinity of Santiago Canyon and Silverado Canyon roads in the city of Orange, near the 241 toll road, according to Orange County Fire Authority spokesman Capt. Stephen Miller.
The fire is said to be east of Santiago Canyon near the 241 toll road and Bee Canyon. The 241 toll road has been closed between the 133 toll road and Chapman Avenue, according to television reports.
The Orange County Register will update its coverage as soon as infomation is available.

Saw the smoke at 6:10 here in Newport Beach. Tried to post up but the net was busy. The sky is totally black but can still see blue sky up by HB. I hope they can get a handle on this one, alot of OC fire fighters went up to Malibu today!

SHTI! I'm in Tustin Ranch and I think I'm going to take a drive to see what I can find out. But first I need to get my bikes in the car.

View from my house below... Santiago Canyon/Silverado/241 and Orange. At 6pm we noticed a small plume of smoke, by 6:10 it was looking like this...241 now closed. Passed through here this morning to have breakfast with some motorcycle buds in Orange. Windy, windy, windy.

Here is my view from AV (near Canyon Visa/MILF park - not the fire... me) Saw a plume of smoke at 6pm, by 6:10 or so it looked like this...

Just got back from one of the command areas.

It's pretty much gone through our Augustine Staging area and burned through Limestone, Loma Ridge, Hicks Haul Road, and Bolero Springs, and has reached Portola and Sand Canyon.

I get updates about every 15 minutes on how it's progressing through our area.

I'll probably be out on the blackend area tomorrow morning so I'll see how fast it burned through.

They are trying to hold it from traveling north towards the communications center.

It did jump Hicks Haul Road and the 241 in spots, and appears that it may make it to the 261.

Heading back out to the area.....should have some updates in a couple of hours, but by then OCFA will probably have an accurate map up on their web.

Sweatpea and I and 6 other outdoorsclub riders were doing the Luge this afternoon. Finished at 6:00ish and saw all the fire engines rushing by. We were all seperately thinking that it was dangerous to be riding there because if there was a fire we would be toast.
