Thumbs up

I'll definitely stop by Adrenaline to donate. I can't imagine losing my bike, let alone my home.

The STR family helped out Jason and I when we needed it, and we're here to help out our brother when he needs it!

Thanks for organizing this Chris... you rock indeed.

A thought came to me as I was typing away on the 10key (at work).

Anyways, I seen there was a great turnout on items that have been offered for donation. I was thinking why not post these items for sale at a cheap price and the buyer pays the funds directly to Bike Relief for Sladnas.

It's a WIN-WIN either way.

I will start.......for $40.00 you get all of these items:
-sz L Gt hard tail frame Chrom Alloy vbrake & disc comp also comes with LX crankset
-Mavic Wheelset 9speed disc w/XT hubs
-another 7-8speed wheelset w/LX hubs vbrake only
-and a THANK YOU!

Sold! But I will donate $60 instead of $40.

Thank you to Ezzy who came into the shop just to donate to the cause. Thank you for making the special trip!!

Thank you Edgar for your generous donations. I know that you could easily sell those items on e-bay but instead you chose to donate them. Thank you so much.

Default Great News!!

I just got off the phone with Mark and I have to say he is in good spirits considering but just overwhelmed by the support and honest concern that everyone has shown on this board and to that I say thank you to all of you!

It is absolutely fantastic to see the supprt going on, it almost brings me to tears, especailly talking with Mark..and it takes alot for that, ask my wife!

I was able to call on some favors with some vendors and so far Giro/Bell have offered a free helmet of his choice and Nite Rider will donate a HID light, Flight or Moab, to replace the one he lost. Truly amazing to have these guys help out and last but by no means least is Yeti helping out, they have not figured out the price but it will be VERY inexpensive, with a 575 so that more of the donations can go to helping out Mark and his wife getting back on their feet.

Some truly great news, in my opinion!

Thank you to Kevin, Gregory, Edgar and Scott for your very generous online donations! Mark and I really appreciate it. For those that don't know we are up to a total of about $500 so far.

Thank you to Jesse for his contribution in the shop.

I really can't thank you guys enough for contributing. Mark is completely floored by the support and generousity displayed by the members of STR, some of whom he has never met.

I just called Mark and just to re-itterate, he is stunned by the showing of generosity by all the STR folks.

The helmet offer and the Niterider offer really surprised him and he is stoked to get back on the bike soon.

We're going to try to get together for lunch on Saturday and I'll try to pry more out of him then

Boats--thanks again for getting this together. You are awesome for taking the time and the effort!!

1x1Clyde--everything you are doing with the helmet and lights is beyond cool!! Thanks again!!

I plan on donating a good chunk of $$ when I get my first paycheck with all the mandatory overtime pay.

i know for some this may be the last thing on their minds, but since a lot of us don't ride in SD much.... once all the fires and stuff are done with, how about we do a ride to bring everyone together? we could present Mark with his new bike and just hang out

We could all meet Mark and all the people I haven't met. Lot's of nice people on this thread. Really do want to meet everyone.

I can ride Mark's new bike and he can ride my small IronHorse.

This sounds great!

Wait! Will there be sweepers?

I haven't met Mark yet. It's gotta be a nightmare losing everything to a fire but I'm hoping he is able to get his dream bike in the end.

This could end up being like the STR version of pimp my ride. I nominate Jose (ShinKen) to be our version of Xzibit.

My hope for Mark and his family and any other family that lost there homes in these fires, is to get back to as normal of a life as possible. In my household if Neil doesn't get to ride his bike - he gets a bit cranky - so a new bike may help ease some of the pain.
I read in this post that Mark did have insurance and that's going to help get material things back (not quickly by any means), but loosing normacly (not a word?) has got to be crippling.
This all is just very sad to me! Anything I can do I will.

It's really great to see a group of people get together and help someone they barely know. STR has again shown me why i'm grateful to be part of it
