Ya, one of the first things I did was load up my 4 bikes.

I just got off the phone with Mark. He said that he and his wife are doing OK. He is going to try to get online soon and check in.

I told him about this thread and he seemed surprised. I don't think he was expecting it.

Anyway, I don't want to speak for him. But, he said he'll try to get on STR soon.

For those who cant make it into the shop we accept visa/MC over the phone, and we have a shop paypal account, however, before everyone starts calling I need to find out what Mark wants to do.

Count me in for a donation too.

Also, maybe it would be a good idea after Mark gets settled to see what else he needs besides bike stuff? I know when we went through the Cedar Fire four years ago, a lot of our neighbors needed things like household items, gift cards (target or other "home stores") to replace items that aren't covered by insurance.

Hey guys, I don't have much time right now--but I wanted to write in and say that this is totally awesome. I don't even know what to say. I told Chris that I barely know anyone here aside from the SD folks and those I've met at the Noble rides. You all have no idea how much this gesture means to me (and even my wife). It really makes me pause and re-analyze my basic outlook on humanity

I've been on the phone with insurance and FEMA all day, and we are pretty exhausted from all that and just the apprehension of the moment. I guess when I have a few minutes I'll stop by the Adrenaline website and see what is there. It just seems weird to do that and be picky. Everything feels kind of weird right now. Again, everyone here is amazing and I cannot say how much this means to me :hugs:

btw, I did save my Camelbak--it got filled with water, bread, peanut butter, multitool, knife, and other small food items as we ran out the door. I figured I had no idea how bad it was going to get. If my wife and I had to huddle under an overpass for a night I figured water and food would be good I'm so glad it didn't come to that.

Also, I told Chris that even though I know for sure that my apartment vaporized, I don't know the status of my garage (where my car and bike stuff was). It is most likely just the denial, because...well, the building is gone...just rubble. Anyway, if I find out that somehow the garage survived, I'll definitely let you all know.

Default my old light isn't great but...

it's now Mark's if he wants it. It's a TurboCat that will last for ~1.5 hour rides.

Too bad they don't carry Ironhorse bikes with pink forks.

Chris great job bro. I have a light and helmet. The light he can borrow as its my dads and he doesnt use it but i cant give it away and the helmet he can have. I also have some crank bros pedals and some riding gear like shorts and a new never worn XC STR jersey he can have. I have a 20mm front wheel dt swiss 540 with a ritchey hub. I have no problem turning the fight into a way to generate funds either lets figure out away and do it!

Dave, thanks for your support. It means a lot to me, I know what bike shop employees get paid

Thanks to Craig (and Margo) and to Stephanie for your generous donations via paypal. I really appreciate it.

I will call Mark tomarrow and let him know how well things are going (and get to know him better, I've never met him in person)

Mark, Grandpa and I rode together at SART, where my rear wheel un-tensioned itself!, so I am glad we can help out.
As far as a helmet-Giro or Bell?- and lights- Niterider?- go, we have some connections for that and if he would like a Yeti or maybe a Chumba I would bet that we could call in some big favors on that and get a killer price...you never know until you ask!

Mark, glad you and your wife are ok!

I've only ridden with Mark a couple of times, but he's a great guy...you know how sometimes you just know someone is a good person?

It seems like STR attracts just that sort of thing...I think I said this already but though I only know most of you a little (or not at all), seeing how everyone has pulled together through this time is just incredible.
