Exclamation If there was ever a doubt, grasshoppers...

On how important this board has become... one has only to read the SD Fire thread. When people couldn't get the news of road closures, where the fire was, where evacuations were happening... when phone lines where dead or cell phones wouldn't work, key information was being posted for all to read. People were volunteering their trucks, cars, homes and hearts to others.

I think we have seen a defining moment for STR when it transcends just a group of riders talking about chainrings and tires and trails ... this is the stuff of reality and I'm proud to be a part of this Tribe.

Thanks George... I don't think you realize how important this has become.

I was just thinking how much closer we have all just grown...it has transcended our love of bikes and shows how much we care about each other, even those who have known each other for a short time. Please keep praying for us down here...

This site has had reliable, up to the minute reports on the fires from members who live close to the action.

I can't tell you how frustrating it has been to search the web for a semi-reliable map of the OC damage area & current wind direction. The TV only shows pictures from 1 street, but won't tell you exactly where it is in relationship to the overall area.

Thanks everyone!

You're welcome and I'm glad STR is filling an important role now as far as communication and help go.

Right now the focus shouldn't be on thanking me but on staying informed and helping out whenever/wherever we can. This is a time of crisis for some of our fellow riders. Sladnas, nappy, and all of us in harms way need our support. Lets make sure they get it!

To those affected by the fires - I don't have a big truck or my own place to offer (live at home) but if there's anything I can do - don't hesitate to ask.
