Default Howz yer air?

I'm nowhere near a burn zone- but the air quality is completely un-breathable. PM's are off the charts. Prolly will be for the whole week. So Im outta the saddle for now.....

In case yer curious about the quality of yer air before ya go for a romp, check it out.

It stinks like a bbq inside my office in the LBC. Im sure the godfather can smell the smoke too, but its nothing compared to those who have lost their home or a loved one. Just to keep things in perspective.

La Jolla/UTC air is hazy/smoky but not super bad. Was pretty bad down in Chula Vista when they closed school.

Hemet-San Jacinto is bad, but it's just because of all the dust in the air from the wind.

Yeah, sky looks slightly clear (can see blue sky) but still surrounded by smoke and the air, while not smelly, definitely isn't good.

Chino Hills smells like fire and the air is dusty and thick. No riding for me until the wind settles down and the air clears a bit.

Thanks for the link to AQMD.

Air is pretty nasty in Fullerton. It cleared up for a bit but it's back to hazy again. My eyes have been watering and hurting and I've been inside all day. The smell is bad.

Things are pretty clear here by the 91/15, just a bit of smell but nothing bad at all.

No wind in Laguna, the smoke comes over the hill and just stays here. Visibilty maybe 1/4 mile.

Now the waves have been excellent. Glassy smooth with great shape 4-6 footers. 20 plus people at rockpile and a dozen south end el moro. Did not check out brooks or anything south.

I'm on the graveyard shift in Carson. This morning when I got off work at 5:00am,there was so much dust and ash on my car that it looked liked it had been sitting in one spot for a year! This evening at 4:30pm when I left for work,San Dimas was a little hazy with blue skies. When I got to the 5 and 605 freeways it looked and smelled like I was in the middle of a bonfire.Prayers go out to the people that have suffered losses in this tragedy. As some of these fires are the result of arson,I do have a hard time understanding the motives of the people that would start these fires. Is it some kind of misguided revenge,or an accident, mental illness or do they just get their rocks off of other peoples misery?I have wondered about this since the '02 and '03 fires in the mountains above the area I live in.

What a difference a day makes! View from our deck yesterday compared to today. 1st facing east towards Fontana. 2nd set facing south into Ontario. Every direction is pretty much a wall of smoke with an eerie orange glow to this area.
