Talking What the heck?

Has anyone noticed that we don't have much sunlight these days? I went for a ride this afternoon at Aliso Woods at 5:40 and it turned dark so darn fast I couldn't believe it. I got back to the car at 6:45 and it was dark! I guess this means I'm going to have to dig my lights out and go ride The Cleveland (STT/Luge/Old Camp)....

When you get old, you don't like change I want my sun back!

I want my sun back too! I don't have lights, but I need to get one to keep things going on the after work rides.

Had the same challenge tonight. I started around 5 but met some new faces on my loop so I had to cut it short. Flipped a U at totw and headed back and down Mathis, dripping cave ... Need more light.

Yup! I noticed that today too... time to invest in a good light system.
Sucks, but gotta bite the bullet if you wanna keep riding.
Hey, I just realized, with daylight savings... we are gonna be losing an hour of daylight!!!

I ran into Foo and the kids... he said you were about 10 minutes ahead of me. I went up Cholla and on up to Stair Steps and back down... it was getting too dark to go down Rocket-It (I'm getting smarter in my old age!)

See you Sat on Gene's ride?

Hmmm...

Kind of reminds me of a story titled "The Ride" where a chap was on the tail-end of a little singletrack ride.

If memory serves me correctly, in that story it was getting dark and all sorts of strange occurances started happening.

I'd tell you more, but the story kind of just kind of left me hanging at Chapter 3...

I've been going in to work early the last few weeks so I can leave early to take advantage of the light (on foot and bike) but not for long. Ran at El Moro tonight and huffed my butt off to make deer cyn before the sun went behind the hill 'cause it gets creepy back there at dusk. I'm so missing the longer days.

I'm good with either dark or light. But this "in between" is a bummer.

I always end up stressing out as the sun approaches the horizon. Soon, bringing a light will be mandatory and it will always be in the bike mid-week, eliminating worries about getting a flat, getting lost, or just being too slow.

I actually woke up at 4:15am for the Long Beach Marathon Bike Tour. I never realized that time even registered on my watch.

Who'da thunk it?

Yup Guero and I rode the loop tonight starting at around 7pm ish. Not sure what time we got back but without lights its impossible to ride. My Mi-Newts ran out of juice and all I had left was my 10w helmet light which kept flickering on and off due to faulty wiring. Made it back safe though. Wheewww!
