The Puente Hills Landfill Native Habitat Preservation Authority is the agency that has jurisdiction over the entire region all the way to chino hills. they are currently in the process of preparing a Resourse Management Plan to guide the conservation and recreational uses of the land managed or owned by the Habitat Authority.

I encourage you to go and put your 2 cents there at the meeting, i will.

Go to www.habitatauthority.org for more info and maps to the region
That says it all. Who can come?

the meeting was a great forum for us as mountain bikers to voice our views on issues about turnbull and the network of trails out there.

a few of the points brought up were:

creating trail markers with distances for the trails. Accessing what trails were being used by who and at what rate( there were a few mountain bikers there voicing there opinions). One downhiller brought up the idea of having there own trails for downhilling so that the general trail user (hikers, XC mountain bikers and equestrians) would not be so directly affected by "extreme" DH'ers. a lot of people liked that. I brought up the question of how the habitat authority feels about trail maintenance from an individual or organization, they said that they would address that issue at a later time. they mainly wanted to hear from the people who used the trails about how they used them. hikers and equestrians were there and it was a very peaceful event.

Not to sound like some left-wing liberal, but peace is always a great thing!
