I know that headsets, pivots, bearings, etc can get water in them which can lead to problems. So how do people handle all of the water on their bikes when riding in the rain? How do those soggy Pacific Northwesterners or New Englanders deal with the water all over their rides since rain is a regular part of life?

Well, Anderson, of course!!
SheeshI heard a good one on Letterman last night... Marrying Pamela Anderson (as Paris Hilton's ex just did... and WHY do I know this?!?!...) is like climbing Mount Everest: You know several other guys have been there, but still it is quite an achievement. Bud-da-bump Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming... shud |

I use Boat grease its green you will see it on every Chumba and all my personal bikes. You can get it at pep boys or some auto parts stores. If was developed for boat hubs and axles so they can back into the water and not have to re grease the whole assembly every time. It works great and has been used in the racing circuit for a long time. I also use it on my motorcycles.
I use it on all the treads on my hwr it keeps things from seizing. It also helps keep things from vibrating loose. I hope that helps you . ![]() |

Like Jason said...WaterProof grease.
Bel-Ray etc. makes some pretty good stuff and can be had at most motorcycle acc shops. Edit- p/s: IMHO it kinda also depends on the joints, if there is a good seal and it's greased well- ya might be ok for a shower or two (or more). If the bike gets pretty soaked, I'll tear it down and dry stuff out and regrease. |
