Has anyone been to a mtb camp or on a mtb tour w/ a guide? Any experiences? Thanks in advance.

if we were to start the tour in socal, we could do a kickoff ride on a famous socal trail like noble or trabuco, or santa barbara.

it really depends on how many days the trip would be.

allison and i have also done a southwestern loop where we hit all the above trails plus Fuita/GJ, Crested Butte, Durango(molas pass and then hoffiens), Flagstaff/Sedona.

the biggest problem with doing these trips would be having the support vehicles. i have done the math and it would be best for 6-10 people to have van, a tow vehicle w/5th wheel trailer. or a good sized RV with two chase vehicles (van and a truck or something).

the ultra high end version of this would be to have air transport for the long travel days. total jet set!

sounds good, sign me up! i hope you will provide the beer and hamburgers also..haha

Most tours, I believe, are all inclusive. Well, depends...

Western Spirit is probably the most well-known, and highly regarded that is close to us. They do Tours in UT, and possibly CO as well. White Rim, Moab, actually all over...

I've read quite a few write-ups from the White Rim and they have a guide riding with you, then a support vehicle. You camp out, but they make breakfast and dinner, and carry your camping gear.

My business partner and I will be launching a guide/tour service this coming year. We will be running permitted tours in the following areas:
  • Durango - high country singletrack - July-Aug
  • Durango - low country singletrack - June and Sept
  • SW Utah - May timeframe
  • Gallup, NM - October
  • SoCal's Best - Nov/Dec and March/April
Drop me a PM if interested. These are all 5 day tours. We are pursuing a slightly different model than Western Spirit and others. We won't be camping, etc. We're going a little higher end with nice accomodations and amenities.

Thanks, Matt
