Default A friendly reminder that....

.....quite a few people have their heads up their ( Y ) when out on there on the dirt. i know that coyote at aliso is the 405 fwy of singletracks in orange county and today was no different. apparently quite a few people don't know the basics of trail ettiquette and don't yield to uphill riders...this happened today twice on coyote with 2 seperate groups we came across..it really pissed me off for about 4 seconds when these two johnny's came up and over that short, steep rock climb on coyote and CLEARLY saw me and stu about to climb it...they continued to crest the top and head down acting like we weren't there.

i know i shouldn't expect people to know the basics of trail ettiquette, and i know coyote is a hot bed for this type of behavior, but just remember that not everyone has the common sense that 99% of str does when out on the trail.

now wheres my beer?

it sucks it was really busy today at wood canyon....cars were lined up all the way up the hill past a couple of the streets.

I try to avoid coyote on the weekends too many near misses around blind corners

I rode up coyote about at about 10:30 and there were quite a few people but nothing like Sundays there.

I'm sure I will have no problem at all climbing San Juan tomorrow!

As Nam said, I practice my BMX skills while riding Aliso - especially on Coyote: stiff elbows while climbing is a technique that could always use practice.

This is actually true. Many people ride with their elbows down. Any aggressive BMXer or moto guy knows that for proper riding technique you have to have your elbows up. I've done very well at pushing people around who weigh much more than me with a stiff elbow.

There's also grabbing the offender's brake, but that's a little too intenional. Hold your line and keep the elbow stiff.

Keep those elbows up and stiff, boys!

I was there today at 4pm. There wasn't that many people, But I know what you mean.. some people just don't care. I ride slow on Coyote and today Almost got swiped by some guy that refuses to see me and slow down. I was off of the single track by the way, and this dude still almost hit me.

I was their yesterday guero and it wasn't that busy. Although I was on Coyote and I did notice many people on the trail and the majority of the people their will not yield to the climbing rider. I don't care anymore I don't get upset anymore because so many people on that trail have no idea about trail ettiquette. If I cared my day would be ruined. I do know when I am riding Aliso I am always ringing the bike bell.

Go RED SOX!
