I think they are very, very nice. I have owned 2 sets. The ONLY negative I can think of, which is not applicable to most folks whether they want to admit it or not, is that you cant run a bashguard on them since it is a spiderless system. Other than that, nothing I can think of. Only serious phat assess with mad skillz have any business whining about square taper. Its a tough call as to whether I like the Middleburns with UNO rings or ENOs more....pretty much a wash. Pair them with a Phil Wood BB and you have stokage with a bomb-proof setup IMHO

I have a set on my SS. I actually kinda like the spiderless system since it keeps your cog dead center. No varying tension for your chain.

The only issue I had is I guess the Q-factor(?) is low on these, so ended up having to buy a wider BB to accomodate, because my frame was so flexy, the crank would hit the chainstay when I was hammering.

I have switched all my bikes to square taper, all with Phil Wood stainless steel bottom backets. One set of Eno's, with Boone chainring and two sets of Middleburns. I like the Middleburns better because they are more versitle than Enos. With Middleburn you can run them single chainring or a 4 or 5 bolt spider, 165 to 180 lenght cranks, build your own chainring sizes.

Eno chainrings only last me about 500 miles before they are shark fined...nearly two years on the Ti Boone, shows wear but still useable.

Picture is of the set of Middleburns I built up waiting for my RFX frame and Eno with Boone Chrainring on the SS.

Default I like Eno

The center mount chainring is nice, because it promotes even chain tension. I would go Middleburn if $ is not part of the decision, but they are about twice as expensive. Middleburn can do a center mount ss ring too,

White Ind. parts are made in USA if that matters to anyone these days. The shop next to mine makes alot of parts for them.

Default Enos

I have a complete Eno drivetrain on my S.S. Ring, freewheel, hub. Absolutely razor sharp! I did have to replace the front ring after about 18 months. Unless someone shows me something better, I would buy this setup again.

Depends on the BB interface. You can buy Shimano square tamper BB for as little as $9. Now buying Phil Wood Stainless Steel in another story $109.
