Default Rosarito-Ensenada 50 miler...who's going?

Just wondering if anyone else is going down to BC this weekend for the ride. We'll be there...my first time.

Is the fiesta at the finish line decent? Anyone know?

Yeah, it's fun. I've done the ride a few times and have always had a blast.

A couple words of advice...
1) Take your time, there is no reason to hurry and just have a good time.

2) Go to the store and buy 20.00 worth of penny candy, and bring it with you on the ride. You'll know what to do with it as soon as you start riding.

I've always wanted to do this--had no idea it was this weekend. Hopefully next year.

You can sign up the day of the event. They have 2 rides per year...April and end of September.

Great advice...people I know who have done it before say the same things Hopefully it's not like Mardi Gras...throw something to the crowd, get flashed!

I used to do both the April and September rides religiously, but I got busy and stopped about 4 years ago. I did it in April and wanted to go this weekend, but I'm busy with other stuff, so it'll have to wait until next April.

It's a fun ride if you can handle the whole Mexico environment (some people hate it) and the finish line party is ok. Nothing crazy but a ton of people, food and beer. Oh yes, the occasional hot chick.

It's an easy ride that some hammer, but I take my time and enjoy. It is now standard procedure to stop and hit every beer stand and shack to drink and have the odd shot.

This is what I typically do the ride on, and I'm a wimp, so anybody can do this ride.

Keep your distance from the guy in front of you, be aware that this ride brings a lot of unexperiance riders so you will see people changing lanes, stoping in the middle of the road, cutting you off and more with out any warning. Done it a few times and is alway a good time!!!!!
Have fun.

I've been to Ensenada several times to race DH...these are the favorite races I've ever done...so I know what to expect from that end of it.

As for the hot chicks...I'll be one of them

Yeah, I've heard to watch out for the Barney's in the crowd...
