Default we should get a chino hills ride

We should put together a chino hills ride for saturday mornings. I think it would be fun and a good way to keep up the winter conditioning. if anyone else wants to get in on this i would love it.

I'd be down. Forgive my noobness, but where's the trailhead? Off of Carbon Canyon road? More details please.

I'd rather be climbing...

I'm all for it. Weather permitting, I would forego my usual Saturday morning basketball games for some Chino Hills/Carbon Canyon rides.

Done and done...just let me know.

I'd also be down for some CHSP riding with other STR riders. I usually ride from the Carbon Canyon side... Would be fun to explore with riders who are more experienced with the different CHSP trails.

Northridge to 4c's then raptor... can do some more single tracks on that end... then back to 4c's and up Bovinian down South back to the car. Also do northridge to sycamor? then up to southridge down bovinian then on to raptor and from there you have options.

Does that make sense. If you do a chino run, I might be able to meet you guys every so often.

I'm no homer, but I do know the park kinda well.
I will be riding there in the morning - either this Sunday or next. Gotta get the CC flog miles on. Probably starting at Rimcrest or Green River.
I will post a ride once I check with the social planner.

CHSP is my backyard. I ride from the Chino Hills side off the 71 at Soquel Canyon. I would be happy to take a group around my favorite trails on the east side. But I am slow, so I will just point you in the right direction and catch up later! Dawg2 also lives around the corner from me.

I want to explore the Brea side more, so I would be up for starting from Carbon Canyon Regional Park sometimes. The view from the top of Southridge before dropping into Bovinian Delight is something to kill for. One of the best views in SoCal. Period. But getting up there is a feat!

I don't know the Brea side well, but there has to be a better way to get to the top of Southridge than going up Bovinian Delight. That is beastly! It is a fun descent, but I would rather climb the fire roads.

A regular Saturday morning ride would be fun. I can't do this Sat, though.

There is also talk of a newbie ride at CHSP in the next few months.

The rangers haven't had the nicely printed trail maps since last summer. Not sure why. Probably budget.

Here is a good one. If I am going to unknown territory, I consult it before I ride.

The east side is fun, but my favorite rides involve going up to 4 Corners and taking one of the many ways back down. If you have never ridden up Southridge to the top of Bovinian Delight, do it! The view is spectacular and the ride down Bovinian Delight to 4 Corners is lots of fun.

I haven't ridden the chino portion in years.
Since I moved to OC, I've stuck to the southridge trails.

Gene and I are thinking of doing a Chino Hills ride as an up coming "Newbie Ride"... trying to decide on the date but it will be aon a Sat morning. Probably meet at the main entrance as they have plenty of parking and a park to eat in afterwards. Chino Hills is a great park that has a little bit of everything. Watch for a future posting.

I don't know about that - it's laminated like a placemat.
However, I'll be happy to make you a color xerox - They work better in the camelbak anyway.
