Thumbs up STR's 3rd birthday is just around the corner...

....and we were loosely talking about where to have the birthday bash on yesterdays ride. A few suggestions were made, seeing how large STR has gotten over the past year, it will have to be a fairly large location. a date hasn't been locked down yet, so that will have to be determined as well. george has agreed to take 1 Jager Bomb for each year STR has been around! j/k

locations discussed were:
Tustin Brew Co. (they are no strangers to mt. bike bubbs)
Yardhouse (irvine location maybe)
JT Schmidts (in orange, near the pond)
Danny K's (in orange, kinda near the pond)

if anyone else has other suggestions, please chime in. also post what dates would work best, maybe the 3rd weekend in october? this would give time for people to put it on their calendars and what not.

**EDIT** so far it looks like oct 20th is gonna work best, lets aim for that...now we need the location to be figured out.

All of them are good choices. JT Schmidts has some space in the parking lot for the huckers to put on a show.

my vote is for JT schmidts. Usually ample room there when a local game is not going on at the same time - outdoor seating too.

How does Friday the 12th sound?

We have alot of IE and SD bubbs and bubbets who still need to pipe in. The 20th works for me as well. As far as location, any is good with me, I'm there! Too bad we couldn't do a bikes/brew thing, maybe a Whiting/Luge ride then Cook's Corner, just another suggestion unless there are other trails/bars that are close to one another like Luge and Cook's. Any other thoughts, RUT, Dstep, Mike?

I'd be up for any of those places.

For a different idea, what about taking over O'neil or Upper San Juan campground for weekend? Sandwich a couple of rides around a Saturday night fireside Birthday party?

The weekend of Oct 20th works best for me. Any location.

I like Schecky's idea of camping/riding too. Either way I'm in.

If you want to turn it into a barbeque Bonelli would be great. Bring a few boats out for skiing and trails to ride what more could you ask for.

How about at Alpine Village in Torrance OKTOBERFEST style. "'tis the season".

I could probably do the 3rd weekend, but it would have to be a weekend day (as opposed to a Friday). Either way, I'm sure that it will be a blast!!!

I figure, I can do any of those rides another time. Unless of course you had reservations or something. STR celebrating a birthday only happens once a year, so for me the choice is clear. Hope that makes some folks choice a little easier.
