I love arm warmers. They're only $5 at the Canari Warehouse Sale (where I buy all of my clothing). They are the most essential cold weather piece of clothing for me. Next to that, a wind vest. I have a convertible jacket/vest from Canari that I always have in vest mode. Finally, I have tons of cheap baselayers I got at www.sierratradingpost.com, some thicker than others. I've found that wind is the biggest problem, which is why the wind vest is important. The arm warmers also do a pretty good job against wind.

Got any more details about the Canari Warehouse Sale?

I got some great Icebreaker wool short-sleeved shirts from Steep and Cheap last December. Hopefully they'll come up again this year! They work great as a baselayer underneath a long-sleeved jersey.

Earwarmers are great. A beanie or helmet liner (that cover your ears too) on especially cold nights!

I'll also wear lycra shorts underneath regular shorts for extra warmth. Leg warmers with that.

Brand, best features, price, dislikes.

I've got a Marmot jacket that breathes well and is waterproof.

Ear warmers, leg warmers, under armour, wind vest. I also have a jacket by Nema that I'll wear for the really wet riding

It happens a couple of times per year. I got on an email list that informs people when it is. I originally saw it posted on a messageboard.

It usually starts on a Friday, and goes for 2-3 days. The warehouse is in Vista, CA. Typical prices:
$10 plain jerseys (including wool if they got em)
$30 convertible jackets
$5 gloves
$5 warmers
$10 Fleece
A $5 area of cheap shorts and reject stuff.

They also have other stuff like printed jerseys, tights, etc. The stuff at the sale depends on whatever they have left in the warehouse. Best selection is on Friday morning, but you might get killer deals on the last day as they try to just get rid of stuff.

I'll post it up when I get word of the next one.
