Sullivan rain ride

Some pics of my ride today. It was pouring in the beginning. I took shelter under a garage overhang and watched as 3 mtn bikers rode past whooping it up. So I figured WTH and off I went. Lesson # 1- Camelbacks are not waterproof so pack extra clothes in plastic bags as they ended up as wet as what I was wearing.
Squirrel trail was a river! No pics of that,only the entrance to it. If you want to know that Fall has arrived, ride Sullivan Cyn. on the West side! Steam rose off the trail as I climbed the steep section of Sully and the sun tried to break through.
The sun finally came out as I schlepped up to the hub. Has that climb gotten steeper? My legs felt trashed!
Finished on Backbone with incredible views of Catalina and the SM bay! It was nice and warm out the whole ride so extra clothes were not needed.
SoCal isn't Colorado but it has some damn fine trails for being so hugely urban!

Way to go female grasshopper... you put the rest of us to shame.... although we were a bit drier....

Those are my local trails!!! Dang girl, extra points for riding them in the rain, but sheesh!

The MTB gods created rainy days so that we'd have one, and only one, good excuse for a day out of the saddle.
