I am looking to move from whereI am right now. I am having trouble finding a nice place in my budget. Anyone know of any rentals or services I should try?

Go through an agent or realtor, it's worth the extra cash. Me and my fiance were struggling to find a place until we enlisted an agent.
She found us a great two-bedroom townhome in Calabasas across the street from a trailhead, major shopping center about a 2 minute drive away, easy freeway access. We would've never found our place on our own.

what's your budget and where do you want to live? where i live (fullerton) I have always found my places walking around the neighborhood. McFadden Properties in Fullerton, they own A LOT of places in Fullerton and are super nice. Try them as well. Good luck.

I just moved from an apartment complex in Tustin after being there for 7 years. It was pretty no-frills (no dishwasher), but the price was right and it was quite safe. They were built in the 70's so they are quite soundproof.
I believe it was somewhere around $1400 for a 2br, 1ba. I don't know what the 1br units went for. Tustin Plaza Apartments 131 Hall Circle Tustin, CA 92780 (714) 832-5672 |

I've always had good luck with http://www.westsiderentals.com
Despite the name, they cover all of So Cal, not just the West side. The $60 for 60 days of use has been worth it the 2 times I have needed it.

The bridge over Edinger in Santa Ana has a few openings under it. The rent though is a little steep at 1850.00 because it is Orange County. Or if you have a little more cash, I heard there was a cardboard box available in Anaheim (Disneyland close) going for about 2500.00 you will need first and last along with a 10,000 security deposit.
Good luck.

I would give McFadden Properties a try (714) 449-1807. They have a lot of cute homes and manage a small complex near the police station. Very well maintained.
