Default Final Tally of Butler Peak Fire

Well, it's expected to be fully contained Friday. There is going to be a mass demobilization of men and equipment today and Friday.

Final Numbers (according USFS)

14.039 Acres
2,256 Fire Personnel,
102 hand crews
114 engines
34 water tenders
17 helicopters
12 fixed-wing aircraft
6 dozers

Here's an overlay map of the burn area. The yellow trail loop is from Dean's Birthday ride of Area 51 and Gray's Peak Extra Credit.

G- Thanx for the update. It's a shame...could've been alot worse. No injuries or fatalities.
BTW, there is a group coming up to your 'hood on 10/19-21. How'z about a little local trail action?

Big props to the ground and air crews who kept this from becoming a colossal disaster. A good friend has a cabin at Green Valley, and we have talked often about the fire danger there. Once again, the bullet was dodged.
