Default To Andrew (Fullerton Loop):

Thank you so much bro. You saved my ass yesterday afternoon. I don't know what i ran over but i had 2 nasty flats and I didn't bring my gear on this particular ride but you hooked me up with 2 inner tubes while i was facing a 2 hour walk back to my house. I definetley owe you man, at least 2 tubes, hell i'll buy you a drink for sure. My name was Rito btw. See you on the loop.

Props to all the other bikers that asked if i needed help. MTB culture is great!...i'll be sure to pass on the help when needed.

Default Just a reminder

to everyone.

1. You see someone on the trail broken down.......slow down (or better STOP) and ask if they need anything. Even if you are in a hurry or "having a really good time".

Do this EVERYTIME!!

Last weekend in Brian Head there was a group stopped working on a bike and we asked that simple question "Do you guys have everything you need". They said yes.......thanked us...... and we moved on.

Later that day we were stopped fixing a flat and a group passed us and didn't say a word.

Kinda pissed me off

rant off

It's funny... I *always* ask everyone I pass if they are okay and have what they need, but if they did say "no" I wouldn't have anything!! I always ask anyway, just to be friendly...

I do carry a spare tube, but that's about it

It's always a good idea to ask just in case. It takes 5 sec and it's good karma. But I will say this, carry around a business card or some kind of basic contact info. you can hand out or a pen.

I've given out like 8-10 tubes over the past couple of years. A few times the recipients have asked for some way to get me back. I've never have a bus. card with me so I usually just say pay it forward cuz it's good karma. But it kinda gets old after awhile.

Maybe they would need for you to make a call.......or tell their riding group down the trail that they are OK. Never hurts to ask. 9 times out of 10 it is "no thanks we are fine". However there were a few times that a "McGyver fix" saved the day!

Help if you can. If not, move along. Sometimes just trying to help (even just asking) makes all the diference.

Lety - I am sure we would figure something out.

I do carry tools and a spare tube actually two. One for me and one for Julia. I also carry a first aid kit and candy.

My pack weighs a ton that's why I am so sloooow hahaha.

Hey that's a good excuse.

So far no one has needed my new chain tool but me. I do always ask people if they need anything.

I often stop to ask if people could help me, as Im usually tired and really don't want to climb hills anymore...

Props to Andrew for doing the right thing.

I do stop to see if anyone needs help from Biking to Snowboarding(especially skiers as I'm trying to change the image of snowboarding one person at a time), to hiking...its just right. period.

I carry chain links for both Shimano and Sram along with different types of links. I usually carry two tubes and a couple different C02's, a back up pump and a patch kit. Spare levers and numerous band aids. Most times I'm the one helping out but on occasion I've been helped ( thanks Chuma Jason and Brian ). I'm a firm believer of what goes around comes around. I forgot my stuff one night and Jason showed up and gave me a tube and another guy did too, but his tube was defective. I've given out over 20 tubes over the years and still don't mind helping a fellow rider out any chance I get.
