A change in the air?

It has been months of nothing but blue skies, so it was a welcome pleasure to ride this evening under a cloak of dark clouds being driven into the face of the San Gabriels by a steady wind. The view to the west was all dark and gray; lights of the city flickering on early. But to the east where the higher peaks rise above the lower lying clouds an awesome view presented itself when I topped out on the trail during my usual post work ride (Claremont Hills) Ontario Peak (and Cucamonga Peak beyond) soaking up the last of the sun's warmth. They always look higher when they have low clouds skirting their summits. If I could just do somthing about that blue evening haze making everything all fuzzy and dim - the view was much better in person.

I was thinking the same thing on my ride today. The cloudy skies made for a nice change of pace. It was like "Africa Hot" just a couple weeks ago.
