Got any food?
![]() |
I hope these load. Here are some photo's of my Switzerland trip in late August.
I would really like to learn how to put a caption above a photo and perhaps one of you computer savvy people can tell me how some time. We had heavy fog the first day there. We rode up high anyway but couldnt see anything. Riding in fog is cool anyway. Sometimes weather really makes a ride. (I did Noble in a t-storm once and remember it as the most fun time I had there!) The rain moved in the second day and we rode anyway. A big climb to start and rooty rock stuff coming down. The weather was forecast to be raining all week but they were wrong and by the 3rd day,I got my first glimpse of the Matterhorn! WOW! It was cold but but by the 4th day it was tights and vest only. By the 5th day it was shorts and jersey only! The riding was what you wanted it to be. Heavy downhill rigs tore past us, usually Kona Stinky's,and serious rocks and roots dominated many trails. There was also the choice of buff and flowing with tech thrown in to keep you on your toes. By the 5th day we were tired and overly polite with each other;"after you" "oh no. After you,I insist" High penalty on lots of trails. Jet lag definently affected me the first couple days as I took a tumble down a 15 foot slope on an easy section and sported a badly bruised ego and thigh. It was hard to shake the visions of a story told by one of the women on the ride that once witnessed a cow fall down a slope, rolling as the bell donged endlessly until the cow went over the edge of a cliiff to it's death. So needless to say, I felt like a cow as I rolled down the slope. Each ride would take us to a village where we would get coffee and lunch. Then back on the bike to a singletrack and off into town for another gondola ride up. Long singletracks through meadows or deep wood rides with lots of rocks were guaranteed everyday! We rode in the shadow of the Swiss downhill championship course intersecting it occasionally. We didnt have big hit bikes to handle the course but I know some of you would be droooooling to do it. It was a downhill armageddon death trail!! Anyway, hope you like the pics and the 1/2 azzed ride report. |

1/2 azzed my azz! That was a great report. Pics. weren't 1/2 bad, either. Thanks.
Was this a managed tour of some sort, or something you put together? And while we're talking sheep, did you hear West Virginia just discovered a new use for them? Wool. Last edited by Ladd Jasper : 09-18-2007 at 09:23 PM. Reason: Made a funny. |

sign me up! Those shots of the Matterhorn are awesome.
I like the loudraker: all-mountain tour.

In the create post area (when you click the blue "REPLY" button or the "Go Advanced" under quick reply) scroll down to an area called manage attachments and you can attach photos there.
There are some drawbacks to attachments though - such as you can't caption (it lumps them together), it's hard to reference it in a different post, and they won't ever show up on the homepage (unlike the gallery). But it's quick and easy ![]()

We did the all womens trip. Total of 7 women with a male guide. I'm more of an xc type than DH type so it was perfect for me. We were on many of the same trails as the DH guys though.

After you do your attachment they look lumped together, but if you then separate them with a space in between your attachments (in the "Go Advanced" mode) you can then add your text/captions.
![]() Dah': BTW: the RR/Pix are awsome, I would love to ride there. Ok Alison your in charge of the next STR invasion to the Swiss Alps! =)
