I have been trying to find the first MTB bike I had when I was a kid. It was a Diamondback full rigid but I can't think of what the model was for the life of me.

Does anyone know a site or resource with pictures and info of old MTB bikes specificly 1980 Diamondback?

My first mountain bike back in '92 was a rigid Trek 820. The frame got bent when I was hit by a car riding it.

I found the same frame with fork on Ebay last year and built it up as a "Nostalgia build". I'd be down for a vintage ride, if a rigid '92 Trek 820 counts as vintage.

Thats pretty close but that looks a few years newer then the one I had. Mine was navy blue and had like a mini BMX handle bars in a U shape maybe a 4 or 5 inch sweep. It was a few years old when I got it but I rode the hell out of that thing until I got to High School.

well, i have 50 or so.

5 Ritcheys
4 Fat chances
2 Steve Potts
Chris King bike
Yeti's (including the first prototype made)
Old Salsa's
Clunker
Merlin
3 Mantis
McMahon
Curtlo
etc..........................................

pretty much only custom top of the line bikes. not too big a fan of production bikes. these bikes were the best race bikes of the day and it's nice to take them out to stretch their legs once in while.

VC - I was in your shop last week and talked to you about some Mantis frames you have. Love your shop.

if anyone wants their own ride to join in on...

I would be willing to sell my '92 Haro Extreme w/ Manitou4 and full XT pretty cheap...

I am restoring a Manits XCR. I need an axle to go with the pressed in crankset bearings. I have powder coated the frame. I a found square taper crankset. All I am missing is the axle. Can you help?

What kind of "vintage" we talking about here? How about a 1997 GT LTS-1 with close to 8,000 miles on it? Does that qualify? K
