Default Don't call me HOMER!!!!

Finally decided to give gears and suspension a try after two years of only riding a HT SS. It came down to the Ellsworth Evolve or Homer Sultan. There were pros and cons with both bikes but it really came down to the fact that the Evolve (with the Rp23 rear shock upgrade) was $400 more than the Sultan (Rp23 is standard). Also the Sultan is more versatile. There are different rocker arms available that with increase the travel / raise the BB/ change the HA.

The plan for this bike was to build it up as more of a trail bike and swap the Reba out with a 5” fork in the near future. I will keep the SS with a different build for more CC rides.

Some of the parts are new….. some I had lying around….. some were looted off of my SS …..and some were purchased from a riding buddy.

Special shout out to The Path Bike Shop for their patience with me and the great deals! Also to jncarpenter and Padre for the valuable advise.

Just got back from the Tour de Southern Utah. Gooseberry, Thunder Mountain, Brian Head etc.. After I got used to the gears and suspension this bike ripped through single track and the gnar stuff. I was impressed. This “CC bike” kept up with my riding buds on their 5.5” - 7” travel bikes (26” wheels). And this was with a crappy pilot (me!).

Possible future changes Push rockers (or other) on it for a little more travel / BB height and use the RS Pike coil kit on the Reba for 120mm to 80mm adjustable travel. The only negative on this bike is the low BB. And this was with 175mm cranks (I normally run 180’s).
