J-Sims and I are going to rock the www.12hrsoftemecula.com in November. Our team is totally dedicated to fun and self betterment, we are not looking for fast guys to help our team win, we are looking for cool guys/ girls who want to try racing for fun in a totally pressure free environment.
The cost is pretty low if we get 4-5 people, and I promise it is a good time. Last race I camped there with my team and I'll never forget it, it is a very cool event. Come on, post up, you know you want to! All the cool people (me and Jason) are doing it! By the way, thanks Allison, good idea... |

Sweeeet- I am stoked that there is interest. So far there looks like 8 or so people. Teams can be up to 5 people, so we should form two teams. We can all camp together (whoever wants to camp). If you are not local but don't like sleeping on the ground there are Hotels/ Motels in Temecula, but camping is the funnest way to go I think.
So I guess we can just go in order of posts, with Me, J_Simms, Queen W., Onlyontwo, and JCampbell on one, and so far Sprocket Head, Ann? maybe and ChumbaJason on the other team. I'm sure more people will join up to fill the other team. I will register the team I am on, as soon as I get PM's giving me a commitment from you guys (and Girl),and we can settle up at the race or whenever. You all have to come up with a team name though (you don't want me to do it). I'll bring a Park stand, a huge sun canopy, and etc... for everybody to use. This is going to be awesome. |

I did this the first year. I was so cold after a night lap that when I came in I shook the RV so much I woke up the whole family, and my grandson did not appreciate it and let us and all the people camping around us that he wasn't happy.
I went out at 2 am and lost my new light. My back up then went dead, and I was about halfway out. When your lights go out there, you can not even see your feet and you have to walk by braille. I would inch my way till a light came up behind me. More times then not, I'd be off the trail when a bike did come by and my effort wasn't to move foward, but to just get back to the trail. Finally a guy came by and gave me a little mag light and I was able to walk. After an hour a rider showed up and said he'd spot me with his light, so we rode in like that. Problem was on the dh, when I'd out run his light and then be in total darkness doing 15 mph and not knowing if I was on a trail or going over a cliff. It dropped to 34 degrees that night while I was out there. I swore off 24 hour racing then, but went ahead and started right back up the next year. I'm thinking of doing a solo this time.
